Please join us for our September CPCU lunch meeting on Thursday September 17, 2026 at 11:30am! 

Our speaker will be Kristen Mercer, who is a Special Agent in Charge at the NC Department of Insurance. Kristen will speak on what the NC DOI's Criminal Investigations Division does, and how they get cases and conduct investigations. She will also talk about past cases they have worked on, as well as how they help combat fraud in North Carolina. 

About our Speaker:

Kristen Mercer graduated from Appalachian State University in May of 2001 and two weeks later started with the Raleigh Police Department.  While working for the Raleigh Police Department she served as an undercover officer for a year and then had the opportunities to work on patrol and recruiting before being promoted to detective and working in Drugs and Vice. In 2011, she was hired by the North Carolina Department of Insurance where she has been lucky enough to serve for the past 16 years as a special agent and is now serving as a Special Agent in Charge over District III.  She has been married to Joe for 21 years who is currently a Captain with the Raleigh Police Department and is blessed to be called “mom” to three kids Caleb 19, Noah 16, and Anna 12.

The presentation will be preceded by a catered lunch, and there will be door prizes! We hope to see you there!
